This is sad indeed. I really enjoyed the accompanying essay the photographer posted on his site, sweetjuniper.com. He cautions us not to place all blame on DPS. Apparently the building and its contents were originally damaged in a fire, and the building was sold as-is to Matty Moroun, who also owns the crumbling train station next door, and the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. It is Moroun's responsibility as the current owner to secure the building and maintain it, and the city should force him to do so.
