Constructed in January 2004 and winner of the 2005 American Institute of Architects Michigan Award for Sustainable Design this unique library was built with many sustainable
design features including:
Solar heating, convection cooling
Vegetated green roof
Naturally captured & filtered storm water
Native plants & grasses
Many uses of renewable materials
