America's Most Literate Cites 2006
Central Connecticut University has come out with the list of the most literate (major) cites. The "study focuses on six key indicators of literacy: newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment, and Internet resources"
Detroit ranks 52nd out of 70 (up four spots from last year). In the category of Library Support, Holdings, and Utilization, Detroit ranks 45th.
